About Holy Cross
Holy Cross Lutheran Church is a worshiping community of families and individuals located in the far northwest Chicago suburb of Cary, Illinois. A long-time presence in Cary, Holy Cross celebrated 100 years of God’s blessings in 2011.
Holy Cross stands in the Lutheran heritage dating to the sixteenth century and the church reforms introduced by Martin Luther. The central defining teaching of the Lutheran Church is that God’s people, disconnected from Him by sin, are re-connected to Him by his grace solely through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. This central teaching is supported by three Reformation understandings: grace alone (this is all God’s doing), faith alone (faith alone saves, though faith is never alone), and Scripture alone (God’s revealed word is the final rule and norm for Christian teaching).
